Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
The ambassadors of the P3+2 group reaffirmed on Tuesday their commitment to supporting Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council.
This came during a meeting between head of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, and the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, the US, the United Arab Emirates, France, and the UK.
According to the official Yemeni news agency, the meeting, which took place in the Saudi capital Riyadh, came “within the framework of affirming the strong partnership with the international community to support Yemen and the Yemeni people.”
The agency stated that the Presidential Leadership Council affirmed in the meeting “its full commitment to achieving economic, political, and security priorities that meet the hopes and aspirations of the Yemeni people.”
For their part, the ambassadors affirmed “their steadfast commitment to supporting the Presidential Leadership Council, the Yemeni government, and its institutions, to provide basic services, enhance governance, and support economic development in the country.”
This comes amid diplomatic efforts led by the internationally recognized government with representatives of diplomatic missions of countries concerned with the Yemeni file, coinciding with the changes and events that have taken place in the region, the latest of which was what happened in Syria.
