Houthis: Eight Of Our Fighters Dead In Clashes With Yemeni Army

Yemen Monitor/ Newsroom:

The Houthi group announced on Saturday the death of eight of its members in Sana’a, six of whom were killed in clashes with the internationally recognized government forces.

The Houthi-controlled Saba News Agency reported on Saturday that the bodies of six of the group’s fighters were buried in Sana’a, in addition to two others described as missing in action for the homeland.

The group did not specify the time or place of the deaths of its members or the officers it said were missing, merely stating that the six were killed in “fronts of honor and dignity,” referring to clashes with government forces.

The six killed in the fronts held five military ranks: 2 with the rank of captain, one with the rank of first lieutenant, 2 with the rank of second lieutenant, and the sixth was described as a “mujahideen.” The two described as missing in action for the homeland held the ranks of colonel and first lieutenant, respectively.

Last Saturday, the group had buried three of its members holding military ranks who were killed in clashes with government forces, bringing the number of the group’s dead announced since the beginning of this month to 25, most of whom held military ranks.

It should be noted that the number of the group’s fighters who have died in clashes with government forces and their allies has risen to 516 fighters since the beginning of 2024.
