Houthi leader Abdul Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi stated that his group has trained hundreds of thousands to fight against any “party that targets his group” adopting the idea of fighting against what he called “America and Israel.”
In a televised speech, which he began in a fearful and angry tone following recent events in Syria amid calls for his group to learn from what happened there, he said: “We have trained hundreds of thousands (…) to acquire combat skills and the ability to fight, and to become psychologically, culturally, and emotionally prepared for battle.”
Regarding the recent events in Syria, al-Houthi said that “Netanyahu stated that the fall of the Al-Assad regime creates new and important opportunities for Israel, and these opportunities have already been translated into reality.”
He added that “the meaning of the new Middle East is that all our countries will be vulnerable to the Israelis and Americans,” as today “the Israelis are moving first to establish an equation in Syria, and then they will move beyond Syria.”
He pointed out that “there is a responsibility on the Syrian people and on the groups that controlled Syria to confront the Israeli aggression, and that the nation has a responsibility to stand alongside the Syrian people against Israeli aggression.”
Al-Houthi denounced the lack of any position or reaction from the Syrian opposition factions towards the ongoing threats from the Israeli enemy, noting that “the groups that controlled Syria are facing a real test towards Israeli aggression and towards the Palestinian cause.”
