Yemeni Presidential Council Requests the Coalition’s Military Support to End the Houthi Coup
Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
On Thursday, the Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen requested military support from the Arab Coalition to support the fighting fronts against the Houthis, until the state institutions are restored.
The official Yemeni news agency reported that “Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib, Sultan al-Arada, discussed with the Commander of the Joint Forces, Lieutenant General Fahd bin Hamad al-Salman, the latest developments and military updates.”
The agency indicated that the meeting addressed mechanisms to enhance joint coordination at various levels and support military and security efforts in facing current challenges, aiming to achieve security and stability, restore state institutions, and end the Houthi terrorist militia coup.
Al-Arada emphasized the importance of enhancing partnership in countering the threats facing Yemen and the region, continuing integration and technical and logistical support, and developing strategic plans to achieve common goals.
He stressed that the current phase requires intensifying efforts, strengthening joint action, and addressing events with awareness and responsibility, as well as elevating the level of readiness to handle current challenges, and close cooperation to meet the aspirations of Yemenis and establish the pillars of security and stability.
Al-Arada expressed his great appreciation, as well as that of all the Yemeni people, for the role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in supporting legitimacy and assisting the Yemeni people in various fields.
He pointed out that the Yemeni people will not forget the brotherly positions and the immense sacrifices made by the Arab Coalition, standing by Yemen in the most difficult circumstances, affirming that these dignified stances will remain etched in the memory and consciousness of every Yemeni.
For his part, the Commander of the Coalition’s Joint Forces confirmed the leadership’s commitment to enhancing the capabilities of the Yemeni armed forces and supporting all efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in Yemen and building a safe and prosperous future for Yemenis.
The meeting comes amidst an escalation by the Houthis on the battle fronts, alongside popular calls for the internationally recognized government forces to mobilize the fighting fronts and end the coup by the Iran-backed group, following the fall of the regime of ousted President Bashar al-Assad in Syria after opposition factions took control of Damascus and most cities in Syria.
