Severe Cold Wave Hits Yemen’s Desert Regions for the First Time

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

Meteorologists have forecast an unprecedented severe cold wave across vast desert regions of Yemen.

Weather expert Abu Nasser Babakri stated that over the next 48 hours, desert areas including Mahra, Hadhramaut, Shabwah, Marib, and Al Jawf are expected to experience an unusually intense cold spell. This will lead to a significant drop in temperatures, especially during late night hours, with readings potentially falling below 10 degrees Celsius.

He added that some western highlands, including Sana’a, Dhamar, Ibb, northern Dha’al, western Al Bayda, Amran, and Sa’ada, are also anticipated to face a severe frost, with temperatures dipping below 5 degrees Celsius. As such, precautionary measures are advised.
