Yemeni Political Parties Coalition Calls for Unified Political and Military Decision to End Houthi Coup
Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
The National Coalition of Yemeni Political Parties and Components called on the Presidential Leadership Council to work on unifying political and military decision-making strategically to end the coup, restore state institutions from the hands of the Houthis, build institutions, and liberate the country from Iranian tutelage.
This came in a press statement in which they congratulated the victories of the Syrian revolution and the fall of the Assad regime, and the liberation of Syria, considering the victory of the Syrian people as the beginning of liberation from Iranian interference in the region.
The coalition stated that it sees in this victory the return of a free Syria from Iranian tutelage to its Arab embrace, and the restoration of its active role in the regional and international community.
It pointed out that this moment embodies the right of the Syrian people to reject foreign tutelage and affirms their free will to restore their sovereignty and build their state on the basis of independence, national dignity, the integrity of their territory, and the preservation of their dignity.
It stressed that the time has come to remove the Iranian regime’s hand from the affairs of the region and to cease its policies aimed at undermining security and stability, whether in Yemen, Syria, or other Arab countries.
The coalition continued: “Our Arab peoples, foremost among them the Syrian people, have shown that freedom and national sovereignty are values that cannot be compromised, and that the will of the peoples is stronger than all attempts at domination.”
The coalition called for strengthening joint Arab work to support the peoples and achieve security, stability, and development in the region. It also expressed its hope that Syria’s return to the Arab fold would be the beginning of a new phase of peace and national reconciliation, and the rebuilding of the Syrian state on foundations that guarantee the dignity and rights of all its citizens, and the unity and integrity of Syrian territory.
