Yemeni Presidential Council Congratulates Syrians on Overthrowing ‘Iranian Guardianship’

The Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen congratulated the Syrian people on overthrowing the Iranian guardianship system in Syria and Damascus’ return to the Arab fold, affirming Yemen’s position in support of Syria’s territorial integrity, respect for its independence and sovereignty, and the will of its people for freedom, change, peace, security, and stability.
This came in a meeting of the council chaired by its president, Rashad Al-Alimi, and attended by Prime Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak, according to the official Yemeni news agency.
According to the agency, the council discussed regional developments and their repercussions on the domestic arena, including the latest developments in Syria, Lebanon, and the occupied Palestinian territories, the Houthi attacks on international shipping lanes, and their devastating consequences for food security, international peace, and security.
The council welcomed the results of the 45th GCC summit, in which Gulf leaders reaffirmed their strong commitment to fully supporting the Presidential Leadership Council to achieve security and stability in Yemen and reach a comprehensive political solution in accordance with the Gulf Initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue
Conference, and UN Security Council Resolution 2216, in a manner that preserves Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, and independence.
The meeting addressed the latest political, economic, and service developments, primarily the continued fluctuations in exchange rates and the prices of basic commodities, and the efforts exerted to alleviate the humanitarian suffering caused by the Houthi terrorist militias supported by the Iranian regime, as well as the level of implementation of its relevant decisions and recommendations.
It also reviewed a report on the results of the work of the presidential committee tasked with preparing a national strategy, chaired by council member Aidrous al-Zubaidi, to deal with the requirements and variables of the coming phase in the political, economic, and military fields, and took the appropriate decisions and recommendations.
