Italy Announces Appointment of an Ambassador to Yemen

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced on Tuesday that Italy has appointed an ambassador to Yemen as a sign of support for its legitimate authorities in its war against the Houthis.
He added, “To support the legitimate government in Yemen, we decided in the last cabinet meeting to appoint an Italian ambassador to send a signal of closeness to the legitimate authorities in the country, who are allied with the Gulf states, while the war, as you know, continues.”
Tajani, who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister, said: “When Iran realizes that it is not appropriate to continue the attack, the Houthis will also stop launching attacks.”
