Yemeni Government Condemns Houthi Massacre in Taiz, Calls for International Condemnation
Yemen Monitor/ Newsroom:
The internationally recognized Yemeni government has condemned the horrific massacre committed by the Houthi group by shelling a popular market in the Mqbanah district of Taiz governorate using a drone, resulting in the killing of civilians and injuring eight others.
In a press statement, Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Muammar al-Eryani, explained that “this heinous crime is an extension of the brutal and intentional killings that the Houthi terrorist militia has been committing on a daily basis against civilians in Taiz governorate since their coup, which has claimed the lives of tens of thousands of civilians, including women and children, amid shameful and reprehensible international silence.”
The Minister of Information called on the international community, the United Nations, its special envoy, and human rights organizations to issue a clear condemnation of this heinous crime.
He said that “these crimes reflect the brutality and bloodthirstiness of the Houthi militia and its deprivation of all human and moral values, and the immediate need to classify it as a ‘global terrorist organization’.”
Earlier, a correspondent for “Yemen Monitor” reported that “the Houthi group targeted, on Sunday, with a drone, a market in the village of “Al-Boumiya, Al-Barasha district” in the western district of Taiz, resulting in the killing of 6 civilians and wounding eight others.
