“Bin Dagr”: Meeting of Islah Delegation with President of the STC is “a step towards comprehensive national reconciliation”
Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
Ahmed Obeid bin Daghr, Chairman of the Shura Council and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the National Coalition of Components and Political Parties, stated that the meeting of a delegation from the Yemeni Islah Party with the President of the STC and a member of the Presidential Leadership Council is a step towards comprehensive national reconciliation.
Bin Daghr described the meeting as “a meeting of brothers and a positive step by both sides, and an initiative towards comprehensive national reconciliation that should be pursued. The interest of the homeland requires strengthening the relationship and consolidating it between the forces opposing the destructive Houthi Imami project in Yemen, which is linked to an Iranian expansionist project in the region.”
He added, “We are gradually approaching the requirements of the stage and its serious tasks, and our shared vision of the nature of the conflict is deepening. Our awareness is all clear of the illusion of exclusivity, and we are leaving some of our exclusionary theses, and some of our discourse laden with the legacy of contradictions, we are experiencing some hope and we seem as if health is spreading again in the corners of our rational political thinking.”
Bin Daghr affirmed that “the battle against the Houthis, by its nature coming from the dust of the past and the legacy of history, is not northern nor is it southern, and it is also not the responsibility of the East or the mission of the West, it is the responsibility of the state and its political expression, the authority, and the STC has become one of its pillars, as is the responsibility of society with its political, social and cultural components.”
The official website of the Yemeni Islah Party stated that its delegation, consisting of member of the Higher Council and head of the parliamentary bloc, Deputy Abdul Razak al-Hajri, member of the council Professor Ahmed al-Qomairi, deputy head of the bloc Deputy Ansaf Mayo, and acting head of the Foreign Relations Office Dr. Ibrahim al-Shami, met with “the Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council and President of the STC, Major General Aidrous al-Zubaidi.”
According to the official website, the meeting discussed a number of issues and developments on the local scene, as well as the situation at the regional level and its impact on Yemen.
The Islah delegation “emphasized the importance of the cohesion of the national forces supporting legitimacy, and unity of ranks, to complete the national battle against the Houthi Imami project and restore the state.”
The delegation stated that it expressed satisfaction with the meeting, “noting the importance of continued communication, as it serves the higher national interest, and the unification of components to achieve major goals, and confront the challenges and risks posed by the militia project supported by Iran, on Yemen and its Arab surroundings.”
The meeting stressed the need for continuous coordination, in order to renounce differences and unify efforts to build a solid national base, directing energies towards liberating Yemen from the sectarian, priestly project.
The meeting emphasized the importance of the state and its institutions addressing the economic and living situation, improving services, and working on everything that would alleviate the suffering of citizens.
