How did Turkey respond to the Houthis targeting one of its ships in the Red Sea?
Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning “the missile attacks carried out by the Houthi armed group on the dry bulk carrier ‘Anadolu S’, owned by a Turkish company and flying the Panamanian flag, while sailing off the coast of Yemen.”
The statement indicated that “the necessary measures have been taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future.”
The Houthi group had previously announced that its forces had carried out an operation to target the ship “Anadolu S” in the Red Sea, using a number of ballistic and naval missiles.
They explained that “the targeting of the ship came as a result of its refusal to respond to the group’s warnings and the violation by its owning company of the decision to ban entry into the ports of occupied Palestine.”
