Houthi Announces Attack on Ship in the Red Sea
Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
Yahya Saree, the military spokesman for the Houthi group, said on Tuesday that the group launched a missile attack on a ship in the Red Sea, but did not specify the date or time.
He added that the Houthis, allied with Iran, targeted the “Anadolu-S ship” in the Red Sea with a number of ballistic and naval missiles, and that the hit was accurate and direct.
One of the ships passing through the Red Sea off the coast of Yemen reported that missiles had fallen into the sea near it on Sunday and Monday.
Since November, the Houthis have continued to launch missile and drone attacks in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, initially targeting commercial ships that they believe are linked to Israel or heading to its ports, saying that this is in support of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. They have subsequently begun announcing the launch of missiles and drones towards “Israel” over the past few months.
