Houthi Group Claims Attack on ‘Vital Target’ Southern Israel
Yemen Monitor/Sana’a/Special:
The Houthi armed group announced on Saturday that it had attacked a “vital target” in the Israeli port of Eilat with a number of drones.
The group’s military spokesman said in a televised statement, “We targeted Um Rashrash area in occupied Palestine with a number of drones.”
He added that these operations “will not stop until the war and siege on Gaza are stopped and a ceasefire is implemented in Lebanon.”
The Houthis have been attacking ships in the Red Sea in what they say is support for Palestinians in Gaza Strip. The attacks have turned global trade upside down, forcing shipping companies to reroute their vessels away from the vital Bab el-Mandeb Strait leading to the Suez Canal, and have also led to retaliatory strikes by the US and Britain since January.
