International Report Predicts Continued US Strikes on Yemen Until Late December

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

A recent international report has forecasted that the US and the UK will continue to launch additional airstrikes against military targets in Houthi-controlled areas.

The report, issued by crisis24, stated, “The US and the UK are likely to conduct additional airstrikes against military targets in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen until at least late December.”

Since January 12, the US and UK have been targeting Houthi military sites in response to drone and missile attacks launched by the group against commercial and military vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

The Houthis have also claimed to have expanded their attacks to target ships in the Mediterranean Sea; however, such attacks in the Mediterranean have not been confirmed as of November 10.

US and UK airstrikes have targeted radar systems as well as storage sites for drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles near or in the governorates of Bayda, Dhamar, Hajjah, Hodeidah, Sana’a, and Taiz.

Previous coalition airstrikes have targeted sites near Abbs, Sa’ada, and Zabid. The Houthis have vowed to continue their maritime harassment campaign as long as the Israeli war of annihilation against Gaza continues.

The Houthis are certain to launch retaliatory attacks in the coming days and weeks, and will continue to disrupt shipping. They are also likely to continue organizing mass demonstrations in areas under their control, opposing the Israeli war and airstrikes in northwestern Yemen.

Most of these gatherings are likely to remain largely peaceful and are expected to occur in city centers along major roads, near mosques, and outside government buildings. Protests in solidarity with the Houthis in some cities in other parts of the region cannot be ruled out.
