Yemeni Meteorological Center” Advises Taking Precautions Against Cold Weather

The National Meteorological Center of in Yemen advised taking necessary precautions against cold weather, recommending wearing appropriate winter clothing, using heating devices safely, and drinking plenty of fluids.

In its latest weather bulletin, released on Sunday evening, the meteorological center forecast clear and cold weather during the night and early morning, with partly cloudy skies during the day and scattered rainfall in parts of Hajah, Al Mahwit, Rima, Ibb, Taiz, Lahj, and Abyan governorates.

The bulletin also predicted partly cloudy skies with a chance of scattered rain in Socotra Archipelago and parts of the Tihama Plain. Winds are expected to be moderate, increasing in speed over the eastern Gulf of Aden and  Socotra Archipelago to between 10-20 knots from the northeast to east, and between 15-25 knots from the southeast to south in the southern Red Sea and Bab el Mandeb strait.

In desert areas, the meteorological center forecast clear skies with light to moderate winds, increasing at times and causing dust storms.

The National Meteorology Center and Early Warning alerted citizens, especially children, the elderly, and workers, to take necessary precautions against cold weather during the night and early morning in the aforementioned areas.

The center also warned seafarers and fishermen in the southern Red Sea and  Bab el Mandeb strait of rough seas and high waves.
