Yemen Meteorological Center Predicts Scattered Rains and Cold Weather

The Yemeni National Meteorological Center forecast on Friday the possibility of scattered rainfall over Socotra Archipelago and light rain in parts of Tihama Plain and the southern and eastern coasts.
The center warned in its weather bulletin of “clear and cold weather during the night and early morning in the governorates of Sa’ada, Amran, Sana’a, Dhamar, Al Bayda, and the highlands of Ibb and Al Dhalea,” with the possibility of fog or mist formation on the mountain highlands of Lahj, Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Rima, Al Mahwit, and Hajah. During the day, the weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy with a chance of scattered rain accompanied by thunder in parts of Taiz, Ibb, Rima, Al Mahwit, Hajah, and Sa’ada.
The center indicated that the weather in Socotra Archipelago is expected to be partly cloudy with a chance of scattered rain accompanied by thunder, and light rain in parts of Tihama Plain and the southern and eastern coasts. Winds will be moderate, becoming active at times in the southern parts of the western coast and Bab el Mandeb Strait.
The center added that the weather in desert areas will be clear and tending to be cold at night, and clear to partly cloudy during the day with moderate winds becoming active at times, causing dust and sandstorms.
The National Meteorological Center and Early Warning warned citizens in the aforementioned governorates of cold weather during the night and early morning hours.
It also warned citizens in areas expected to receive rainfall to stay away from valleys and flood channels during and after rainfall and thunderstorms.
Moreover, the center warned drivers of reduced visibility on roads and western mountain slopes due to low, dense clouds and fog formation.
