“Days of Yemen”: A Saudi Park Hosts the Largest Yemeni Heritage and Culture Festival

The “Days of Yemen” event kicked off at Al Suwaidi Park in Riyadh, as part of the “Global Harmony” initiative launched by the Saudi Ministry of Media in partnership with the General Entertainment Authority. The initiative aims to foster communication among residents in Saudi Arabia, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
According to Saudi media, visitors enjoyed live performances showcasing Yemen’s rich heritage, most notably the “Bar’ah” dance, a hallmark of Yemeni folk culture. Yemeni troupes performed the dance to the rhythm of traditional drums, creating an atmosphere of excitement and pride.
A variety of traditional attire from different regions of Yemen was also on display, including adorned robes and embroidered abayas, reflecting the authenticity and simplicity of the culture.
Saudi media reported that the event was not limited to arts and heritage but also highlighted Yemeni cuisine. Visitors were treated to popular dishes such as saltah, fahsa, and mandi, allowing them to savor authentic flavors. Additionally, stalls offering Yemeni coffee, renowned for its unique taste, were also available.
The objectives of “Days of Yemen” include introducing visitors to the depth and diversity of Yemeni culture, making the event a platform to foster understanding and closeness between different cultures.
This initiative comes within the framework of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to build a society that respects diversity and promotes harmonious coexistence among all residents.
