Explosives Found Near Land Authority Headquarters in Aden
Yemen Monitor / Aden/ Exclusive:
A security source in the capital Aden reported on Saturday that explosives were found inside a vehicle parked in front of the General Land Authority headquarters on Friday.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation, added: “A bus was found containing a cardboard box with an explosive device, electrical wires, and a mobile phone near the General Land Authority headquarters in Mu’alla, behind Al-Hubishi Square.”
The source indicated that initial investigations suggest suspicion of a group in Aden, which he did not name, citing the need for “investigative secrecy.”
The source suspects that the explosives were intended to target “Acting President of the General Land Authority, Anis Baharetha,” who works and passes through the area.
“Yemen Monitor” was unable to immediately reach the Yemeni Interior Ministry in Aden and the provincial security department for comment.
The STC oversees security in Aden, which is considered the temporary capital of the country and the center of government recognized by the international community.
