Hadhramaut: Drone Crashes in Uninhabited Area, No Casualties
Yemen Monitor/ Newsroom
The leadership of the Second Military Region denied on Monday evening the circulating news about a drone targeting a vehicle near one of its military camps in the “Jul al-Qarashm” area of Hadhramaut Highlands last night.
In a statement, the leadership clarified that the drone crashed in the “Nahr” area, above the “Edam” valley, in the Hadhramaut Highlands, on one of the uninhabited mountains, causing no human or material losses. Investigations are still ongoing to determine the source of the drone and the motives behind launching it in that location.
Previously, social media accounts had circulated news suggesting that a car had been targeted by a drone strike, and the car and its occupants had been burned. They speculated that the vehicle was carrying a leader in Al-Qaeda organization, a claim that the leadership of the Second Region denied in the aforementioned statement.
