Hadhramaut… Official Decree to Reduce Diesel Prices and Ensure Local Market Supply

On Friday evening, Governor of Hadhramaut, Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, issued Decree No. 92 of 2024, concerning the allocation of a quantity of PetroMasila diesel to the local market at a price of 800 Yemeni riyals per liter, in the public interest.
The decree stated that, after reviewing Law No. 4 of 2000 on local authority and its executive regulations, and in the public interest, it was decided in Article 1 to allocate a quantity of three hundred and fifty thousand liters of diesel for citizens from the total quantities of PetroMasila diesel to cover the local market on a daily basis at a price of eight hundred Yemeni riyals per liter, to be distributed according to a regulated mechanism.
Article two stipulated that the decree shall be effective from the date of its issuance, and all concerned authorities shall take the necessary measures to implement it.
In recent days, the coastal cities of Hadhramaut governorate have witnessed angry popular protests condemning the collapse of living conditions, in the context of the escalation against the local authority and the government, which is led by the Hadhramaut Tribes Alliance and the Hadhramaut Comprehensive Conference.
