Source: Yemeni Academic and his Family Killed in Israeli Airstrikes on Damascus’s al-Mazzeh Neighborhood

Sources reported on Tuesday that a Yemeni academic was killed in Israeli airstrikes on the al-Mazzeh neighborhood in the Syrian capital, Damascus.
Naif al-Qanes, the former Houthi ambassador to Syria, stated that “Dr. Shoqi al-Awad, his wife, and their three daughters were killed” in the Israeli occupation’s attack on the neighborhood.
“Al-Awad” had been working as a professor of pharmaceutical sciences at Syrian universities in Damascus.
The Yemeni government has not yet issued a statement regarding the incident.
The official Syrian News Agency (SANA) reported that 7 people were killed and 11 others were injured, in a preliminary toll of the Israeli shelling of a residential building in the al-Mazzeh area of Damascus.
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) quoted a military source as saying that around 8:15 PM local time, “the Israeli enemy carried out an air aggression with 3 missiles from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting a residential and commercial building in the densely populated al-Mazzeh neighborhood of Damascus.”
