The branch of the General Authority for Books, Publishing and Distribution in Shabwah Governorate (eastern Yemen) has completed all the arrangements and preparations for the launch of the 5th Shabwah Book Fair.
Khalid Faraj, director of the branch of the General Authority for Books, Publishing and Distribution in the governorate, explained that the fair, which will be launched tomorrow, Saturday, and will last for six days, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture in the governorate, will see the participation of publishing houses and local expertise with a variety of scientific books, children’s books, religious and literary books, with a total of five thousand titles and one hundred and fifty thousand copies.
He said, “The events will be accompanied by various activities, including a scientific day for Shabwah University on the importance of the book and reading in life, a cultural day for the Ministry of Culture in the governorate, and another day dedicated to women and children, in addition to a display of books by some authors from the governorate.”
The president of Shabwah University, Tawfiq Basrdah, and the Deputy Governor, Salim Al-Ahmadi, inspected the site of the fair at the Sheikh Yislem bin Ali Cultural Center in Ataq city, and the descriptions and preparations that highlight the events of the fair and ensure its success.
