Yemeni Meteorological Center warns of reduced visibility due to rainfall

The National Meteorological Center has warned drivers on mountainous roads of reduced horizontal visibility due to rainfall and dense low clouds. They have also cautioned against crossing earthen bridges during flash floods.

The center forecasts clear to partly cloudy skies with varying intensities of rainfall accompanied by thunder at times in parts of the governorates of (Taiz, Lahj, Abyan, Aden, Al Dhalea, Ibb, Raymah, and Al Mahwit) extending westward to parts of the highlands and Tihama plain, Hodeidah governorate, and eastward to the highlands of Shabwa and Hadhramaut governorates. Scattered rains are expected in parts of the governorates of (Mahra, Hajjah, and western Saada).

The center also expects clear to partly cloudy skies with scattered rainfall accompanied by thunder at times in parts of the western and southern coasts and adjacent inland areas. Winds will be moderate to strong around Socotra Archipelago, ranging between (15-25 knots), and light to moderate, sometimes active, in parts of the eastern and southern coasts.

Citizens have been advised to avoid valleys and flood channels and to stay away from thunderstorms during rainfall. Seafarers and fishermen have been warned of rough seas and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago.
