Yemen Meteorology Center Predicts Partly Cloudy Skies with Varying Rainfall

The National Meteorology Center in Yemen has forecast partly cloudy skies with varying degrees of rainfall accompanied by occasional thunder in the coming hours.

The center indicated that “rainfall is expected in parts of the governorates of “Lahij, Taiz, Ibb, and Raymah” and highlands and Tihama plain, as well as scattered rainfall in parts of the governorates of “Hajah, Al-Mahweet, and the highlands of Abyan and Shabwah.”

In coastal areas, the meteorology center expects partly cloudy and hot humid weather during the day, with the possibility of varying degrees of rainfall in parts of the western coasts and scattered rainfall on the southern coasts and Socotra Archipelago. Strong winds are expected around Socotra Archipelago with speeds ranging between (25-35 knots), and moderate to active winds on the eastern and southern coasts with speeds ranging between (10-20 knots).

The desert areas are expected to experience hot, dry, and partly cloudy weather with moderate winds that may become active at times, causing dust and sandstorms.

The meteorology center has warned citizens in areas expected to experience rainfall to avoid valleys, flood channels, and areas prone to flash floods during rainfall.

Drivers have also been warned of reduced visibility due to rainfall and low clouds, and fishermen and seafarers in Socotra Archipelago have been advised to be cautious due to rough seas and high
