The commander of the rescue forces in Shabwah Governorate narrowly escaped an assassination attempt today, Monday, in the city of Ataq, the capital of the governorate.
A security source said that unknown gunmen opened fire on a military vehicle carrying the commander of the rescue forces, Ali al-Dahbul, and then fled the scene.
Shabwah Governorate, which is under the control of the STC, is witnessing widespread security chaos, a proliferation of weapons, a resurgence of tribal vendettas, and murders, especially crimes of a family nature.
