Yemeni Prime Minister Arrives in Qatar for Official Visit

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom

Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak arrived in Qatar on Saturday evening for an official visit, during which he will meet with several officials.

According to the official Yemeni news agency, the Prime Minister, accompanied by the Minister of Education Tarek Al-Akbari, is scheduled to participate in a high-level event celebrating the International Day to Protect Education from Attack, which occurs on September 9 each year.

In August of last year, the Qatari and Yemeni governments agreed to activate political consultation mechanisms and the joint ministerial committee that had been frozen for 11 years during the visit of then-Yemeni Foreign Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak to Doha.

Yemen had restored its relations with Qatar after announcing on November 25, 2021, the appointment of Rajeh Badi as its first ambassador to Doha, following the end of the repercussions of the “Gulf Crisis” in early January 2021.
