Five young men, some critically, were injured on Friday in the explosion of a hand grenade they were tampering with in the city of Aden (southern Yemen).
Local sources reported that “a grenade exploded in a group of young men while they were chewing qat in the coastal road linking Khor Maksar and Al-Mansoura.”
They explained that “the young men were chewing qat in a car belonging to the brother of a security official affiliated with the STC, named ‘Akram Awad Abdul Habib’, who was seriously injured, resulting in the amputation of one of his hands.”
Social media users circulated a video record showing the young men tampering with the grenade before it exploded with them.
