Yemen Monitor/Newsroom

The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning in Yemen predicted on Wednesday the occurrence of varying intensity thunderstorms and scattered rainfall across parts of several governorates during the coming 24 hours.

According to the weather bulletin issued by the center, varying intensity thunderstorms are expected in parts of Taiz, Lahj, Al Dhale’a, Ibb, Dhamar, Rima, Hajjah, Al Mahwit, and western parts of Sana’a, Amran, and Saada. The rainfall may extend westward to include parts of  Tihama Plain and Hodeidah Governorate.

Scattered rainfall accompanied by occasional thunderstorms is likely in parts of Al Bayda, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramaut, Mahra, and the southern and eastern coasts.

The center reported that scattered rainfall occurred during the past 24 hours in parts of the eastern coasts, internal plateaus, and parts of the northwestern and southwestern highlands, mostly outside the range of weather stations.

The center warned citizens against being in valleys and flood channels, thunderstorms, and reduced horizontal visibility on mountain roads due to rainfall and low-level dense cumulus clouds, as well as rock slides.
