Dozens Flee Homes in Disaster-Stricken Malhan District Amidst Landslides

Local sources and rescue teams report that dozens of residents in the disaster-stricken areas of Malhan district have been forced to flee their homes due to the threat of landslides.
Comedian and artist Tawfiq al-Ma’akhathy stated that Al-Fuqaha Rabat Sha’r Hamdan area is experiencing landslides that pose a serious threat to the lives of its inhabitants.
He emphasized that this dire humanitarian situation has compelled many families to abandon their homes in search of safety, adding that these displaced individuals now lack shelter and food, with an urgent need for support and solidarity.
Al-Maakhathy called for immediate intervention to secure the threatened areas and address the damage caused by these landslides, safeguarding lives and property.
Meanwhile, Yahya al-Saghir, Director General of the Media Office in Mahwit Governorate, warned of an impending famine threatening the residents of the disaster-stricken areas due to road closures, continued rainfall, and the exodus of remaining residents from collapsing homes. Some have been reduced to only the clothes on their backs, and no relief supplies have reached them yet.
