Grundberg Calls for Constructive Dialogue Between Yemeni Parties

UN Envoy Hans Grundberg said on Wednesday that he had concluded a visit to Muscat, where he held meetings with senior Omani officials.

He added: During his meetings, Grundberg expressed his appreciation for the Omani role in enhancing UN efforts to achieve peace and stability in Yemen.

Grundberg also met with the chief negotiator of the Houthi armed group, Mohammed Abdul Salam, while emphasizing the urgent need to de-escalate the situation across Yemen.

He stressed the importance of putting the interests of Yemenis at the forefront and called for a constructive dialogue.

Throughout all his meetings, the UN envoy reiterated the urgent call of the UN Secretary-General for the immediate and unconditional release of detained UN staff by the Houthies.
