The National Meteorology Center forecast on Monday, varying levels of rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, downdrafts, and hail over the highlands of the governorates of Taiz, Ibb, Al-Dhale’a, Dhamar, Raymah, Sana’a, Amran, Al-Mahwit, Hajjah, and Sa’ada. The rainfall is expected to extend westward to cover Tihama Plain and the western coasts of Lahj, Hodeidah, and Taiz governorates.
Additionally, the center predicted varying levels of rainfall with thunderstorms over the governorates of Al-Bayda, Mahra, Hadramaut, Aden, the highlands of Shabwa, Abyan, and Lahj, as well as scattered areas in Marib and Al-Jawf governorates.
The center warned citizens in areas expected to experience rainfall to exercise extreme caution and avoid valleys and flood channels during floods. They also cautioned against thunderstorms, strong downdrafts, hail, and reduced horizontal visibility due to rainfall and low-lying clouds.
The center further warned of potential rockfalls on mountainous roads and collapses of mud-brick and traditional buildings due to persistent rainfall.
