US Envoy to Yemen Warns of Environmental Risks Resulted by Houthi Attacks

The US Special Envoy to Yemen, Timothy Lenderking, has asserted that Houthi attacks in Yemen constitute “an environmental and maritime threat” in light of the recent attack on the “MT Suez” vessel.
In a statement on X by the US State Department’s Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, Lenderking stated, “Another imminent environmental and maritime
threat due to reckless Houthi attacks on commercial ships.”
He added, “The ‘MT Suez’ vessel, carrying one million barrels of oil, is on fire and adrift following Houthi attacks.”
