The National Meteorological Center forecast on Wednesday continued heavy rainfall in several governorates over the coming hours.
In its weather bulletin, it predicted the continuation of heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, downbursts, and hail on the highlands of Hajjah, Taiz, Ibb, Al-Dhale’a, Al-Bayda, Dhamar, Rima, Sana’a, Amran, Al-Mahwit, and Saada governorates, extending westward to include Tihama Plain and the western coasts of Hajjah, Hodeidah, and Taiz governorates.
It also forecast rainfall of varying intensity accompanied by thunderstorms in Al-Mahra, Hadhramaut, Shabwah, Abyan, and Aden governorates and the adjacent inland areas, as well as scattered areas in Ma’rib and Al-Jawf governorates.
The center warned citizens in areas expected to receive rainfall to exercise extreme caution and avoid being in valleys, flood channels, and crossing earthen bridges during floods.
It also warned of thunderstorms, strong downbursts, hail, and reduced horizontal visibility due to rainfall and the formation of low clouds.
The center also warned of rockfalls on mountain roads and the collapse of mud and traditional buildings due to continued rainfall.
