The Hadramaut Tribal Alliance (tribal coalition) announced its approval for the passage of fuel quantities allocated for coastal Hadramaut’s electricity from PetroMasila, after previously blocking their passage.

A statement by the Alliance’s committee for studying the needs of service facilities stated that it had approved the passage of quantities allocated for coastal electricity which estimated at around 587,720 liters.

Previously, the General Electricity Corporation and the Oil Company, Coastal Hadramaut branch, had jointly announced the shutdown of a number of power generation stations due to the halt of passage of fuel trucks in the highlands area by the tribal coalition.

The statement held the local authority in the governorate responsible for resolving this issue and called on the head of the Hadramaut Tribal Alliance to release the trucks, emphasizing the need not to deal with any supervisory committees outside the state and its apparatus.

Yesterday, Friday, the Hadramaut Tribal Alliance set up a new camp in the Bishar area of the Rida and Qusayar district, which is the eastern gate of Hadramaut Governorate, with the presence of a large number of tribal leaders and sheikhs from the eastern regions.

The participants in the new camping expressed their support for the alliance in the legitimate demands it is raising against the government, considering that their movements do not carry any political connotations, and criticizing the procrastination of the Presidential Leadership Council.

Since the beginning of this month, the Hadramaut Tribal Alliance has announced a field escalation, by setting up checkpoints along the Hadramaut Plateau, known for its oil fields, following a two-day deadline given by the alliance to the Presidential Leadership Council, threatening to seize what it describes as land and wealth.
