The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), a Saudi government entity, has announced the provision of emergency aid to those affected by the recent floods and rains that hit several Yemeni cities.
In a statement, the center explained that the aid, provided in the governorates of Hajjah, Hodeidah, and Ta’iz, included 5,535 food baskets, 1,580 tents, and 1,356 shelter kits, benefiting 46,825 individuals.
The statement clarified that this aid was provided “with the aim of providing urgent food and shelter needs for those affected by the floods and rains as a result of the weather conditions that hit the three governorates.”
It also affirmed that this comes within “an emergency plan implemented annually in coordination with partners in governorates affected by natural disasters.”
Earlier, the Yemeni government called on all partners to respond quickly and provide urgent support in all its forms to provide relief to those affected, rehabilitate vital infrastructure, and prevent further loss of life and property.
Heavy rains and floods have led to the death and injury of dozens in several cities, with the latest being the death of four people today in the eastern governorate of Marib.
