Meteorologists have warned of a heavy rain moving towards Yemen from the Empty Quarter.
Weather expert Abu Nasser Al-Babakri said that the impacts of the heavy rain have become evident in the Empty Quarter, with satellite images showing the formation of strong thunderstorm cells.
He added that these impacts are expected to extend over the next 24 hours to cover large areas of the country.
“This weather depression is considered the strongest during this season and may even surpass previous seasons in terms of intensity,” he said.
“The latest updates still indicate a high probability of very heavy rainfall in large areas of desert regions and southern mountain ranges, as well as in western highlands, with a high chance of flash floods in some areas.”
He warned of the danger of severe lightning accompanying this rainy weather depression.
