US Soldiers Injured by an Attack in Iraq Days After Houthi Commander Killed

Yemen Monitor/ Baghdad/ Exclusive:

A US base in Iraq came under rocket fire on Monday, resulting in injuries to several US soldiers. This incident follows the killing of four individuals, including a senior commander from the Houthi armed group, in a US airstrike in Iraq just days prior.

France Press and Reuters reported, citing Iraqi sources, that rockets were launched at a base housing US forces. This attack comes in the wake of the killing of Iraqis loyal to Iran in a US airstrike, amid concerns of regional escalation.

A military source indicated that “rockets were fired at Ain al-Asad base” in Anbar province.

According to a senior Iraqi military commander, who spoke on condition of anonymity, members of the  Hezbollah militia and the Yemeni Houthi technical expert Hussein Abdullah Mustour (Abu Jihad) were “testing a new generation of drones” near one of  Hezbollah’s headquarters in Jurf al-Sakhr when they were targeted by the airstrike.
