Yemeni Meteorology Center Forecasts Heavy Rains and Warns of Thunderstorms

The National Meteorology Center and Early Warning has forecast, today Monday, heavy to very heavy thundery showers accompanied by downdrafts and sometimes hail in the governorates of (Saada, Hajjah, Mahweet, Amran, Sana’a, Rima, Dhamar, Ibb, Taiz, Al-Dhale, northern Lahj, Al-Bayda, the western coasts, and the Tihama plain and highlands).
It also forecast varying intensity rain accompanied by thunder in parts of the governorates of (Mahra, Hadramaut, Shabwa, Marib, Al-Jawf, and the coasts of Abyan, Aden, and Lahj).
The center warned citizens to avoid valleys and flood channels during and after rainfall.
It also warned of thunderstorms accompanied by hail at times, in addition to rock and mudslides on mountain slopes and mud houses.
It warned of reduced horizontal visibility due to rain and low dense clouds on mountainous roads, and strong downdrafts causing dust and sandstorms in coastal and desert areas.
It called on relevant government agencies to take the necessary measures to protect lives and property and to follow its bulletins and reports.
