On Saturday, hundreds of women from the Yemeni city of Ma’reb organized a massive rally in solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza, and in condemnation of the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniya in Tehran.
The solidarity march traversed several streets in Mareb, with participants chanting slogans denouncing the crime of Haniya’s assassination and the silence of Arab countries regarding the ongoing Zionist crimes against Gaza Strip.
On Wednesday, Hamas and Iran announced that Haniya was killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting his residence in Tehran, shortly after his participation in the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian president Masoud Bezhashkian.
Haniya’s assassination has sparked a wave of widespread denunciation, with official condemnation statements issued by Arab and regional countries, along with large protests demanding accountability for the Israeli occupation and urging it to cease its war on Gaza.
