Yemen Meteorology Center Urges Citizens to Seek Shelter from Thunderstorms

The National Meteorological Center forecast, today, Sunday, varying degrees of thunderstorms in several governorates over the coming hours.
In its weather bulletin, the center predicted scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity, sometimes accompanied by hail, in parts of the governorates of Sana’a, Mahwit, Dhamar, Ibb, Taiz, Lahij, and the highlands of Lahj and Abyan.
It also predicted scattered rains accompanied by thunder at times in parts of the governorates of Saada, Hajjah, Amran, Rima, and Al-Bayda.
Scattered rains were also expected in parts of the coasts and deserts of the governorates of Hadhramaut, Mahra, Shabwa, Al-Jawf, and Marib, as well as parts of the Tihama Plain and Socotra Island.
The center warned citizens against staying in valleys and flood channels and urged them to seek shelter from thunderstorms in mountainous areas expected to experience rainfall.
Drivers were also urged to be cautious due to reduced visibility caused by rain, fog, and mist.
