Yemeni Government Condemns Israeli Aggression on Hodeidah

Yemen Monitor/ Sana’a/ Exclusive:

The Yemeni government has strongly condemned the Israeli occupation’s attacks on the city of Hodeidah in western Yemen, considering it an act of aggression and a violation of Yemen’s sovereignty.

Citing an official government source, Yemen’s official television condemned the “aggression of the Zionist entity and its violation of Yemeni territorial sovereignty, in clear violation of all international laws and norms.”

The government held the “Zionist entity fully responsible for any consequences arising from its air strikes, including the deepening of the humanitarian crisis exacerbated by the Houthi militias’ terrorist attacks on oil facilities and international shipping lanes, as well as strengthening the position of these militias and their misleading propaganda narratives.”

The statement also warned the Houthis “against continuing to hold the fate of Yemen and its people hostage to achieve its propagandas, and dragging them into their futile battles in service of the Iranian regime’s interests and its expansionist project in the region.”

The government further warned “the Iranian regime and the Zionist entity against any attempt to turn Yemeni lands, through the rogue militias, into an arena for their futile wars and their subversive projects in the region.”

The government called on the Houthi group “to listen to reason, respond to the will and aspirations of the Yemeni people, and prioritize national interests over any other interests and agendas, and to stop all forms of violence and military escalation.”

The government also called on “the international community and the Security Council to assume their responsibilities to protect international peace and security, stressing in this context that the only way to achieve this is to support the Yemeni government in completing the extension of its authority over all its national territory, and implementing the resolutions of international legitimacy, especially Resolution 2216.”

The Yemeni government reiterated “its firm and supportive position towards the Palestinian people, and calls on the international community in this regard to take all necessary steps to stop the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, and to realize their aspirations for security, stability, and a decent life, and to establish their independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.”
