“Houthis Attack on Mosque in Amran Leaves Several Dead and Injured”
Yemen Monitor/Amran/Exclusive:
Local sources have reported that approximately 14 people were killed and injured in an attack carried out by the Houthis on a mosque in Amran Governorate, north of the capital Sana’a, during Friday prayers.
The sources stated that the attack in the “Suwair” district targeted worshipers, resulting in the death of a woman and a man among the congregants, along with injuries to three other women.
Four Houthi militants who stormed the mosque were also killed.
The Houthis justified the attack by claiming to be searching for a wanted individual, but they opened fire inside the mosque, prompting one of the worshipers to retaliate against the shooter, killing and injuring seven Houthis.
The Houthis killed one of the district’s sons, “Hamood Abu Saeed” (whom the Houthis claimed was the wanted individual).
There has been no official comment from the Houthis.
