Yemeni Meteorological Center: Scattered Rain Showers Expected in Several Governorates in the Coming Hours

The National Meteorology Center forecasted today that scattered rain showers will continue to affect several governorates in the coming hours.

According to the weather bulletin, it is expected that thunderstorms with varying intensity will hit parts of the governorates of Taiz, Ibb, Al-Dhale’, Socotra, Rayma, Al-Hodeidah, and parts of Sana’a city. In addition, scattered thunderstorms are expected in the governorates of Bayda, Dhamar, Ibb, and Sana’a.

Furthermore, scattered rain showers are expected in parts of the coastal and desert regions of the governorates of Hadramout and Mahra.

The center warned of strong winds in Socotra Island, reaching speeds of up to 45 knots, and moderate to strong winds along the eastern and southern coasts, ranging from 20-30 knots.

It also forecast extremely hot temperatures in the desert regions of Al-Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Mareb, and Al-Jauf, ranging from 40-45 degrees Celsius.

The center warned citizens against staying in valleys and flood-paths areas and advised them to take shelter from thunderstorms in mountainous areas where heavy rain is expected.

Vehicle drivers were advised to exercise caution due to reduced visibility caused by heavy rainfall.

seafarers and fishermen were warned of rough seas and high waves around Socotra Island and along the eastern and southern coasts.

The center warned of extremely hot temperatures in desert and coastal regions and advised against direct exposure to sunlight.
