Houthi shelling injures girl in southern Marib, homes shelled in western Taiz

A girl was injured by Houthi gunfire in one of the towns in Marib Governorate (northeast of Sana’a), while the group’s gunmen shelled civilian homes west of Taiz City (southwest of Yemen).
The Yemeni defense ministry’s website “September Net” quoted local sources as saying, “A girl was injured by Houthi gunfire targeting civilian homes south of Marib Governorate.”
The sources added that the girl, whose name is Dhubya Mohammed Saleh Al-Dhafri (11 years old), was seriously injured after being shot in her right shoulder by the Houthis in Al-Jafr area in Al-Abdiya Directorate.
Over the past two days, the Houthi group has launched shelling with various types of heavy and medium weapons targeting residential villages in the area, causing injuries to a number of civilians.
In a related development, the Houthi group has launched artillery shelling targeting a number of populated areas west of Taiz Governorate during the past 24 hours.
The official Yemeni news agency Saba quoted local sources as saying that “the Houthi militia has been continuing its indiscriminate shelling of populated villages in Al-Dhabab area since last Thursday.”
He pointed out that the shelling caused extensive material damage to citizens’ homes and property, in addition to spreading fear among the population, especially women and children.
