Yemeni Meteorological center Expects Heavy Rain, Warns of Sea Disturbances in Socotra and Gulf of Aden

The Yemeni Meteorological center predicted, on Wednesday, that the weather will be partly cloudy, turning cloudy, with thunderstorms of varying intensity on parts of Taiz, Ibb, Dhale’e, Al Bayda, Dhamar, Rima and Marib highlands, Shabwah, Abyan and Lahj. It also predicted thunderstorms sometimes on parts of Sa’dah, Hajjah, Amran, Al Mahwit, Sana’a governorates and some areas of Tihama Plain in the afternoon and evening hours.
In the coastal areas, it pointed to a clear to partly cloudy and dusty atmosphere, hot, where the maximum temperatures range between 35-40 degrees Celsius, and strong winds around Socotra Archipelago reaching a maximum speed of more than 40 knots, moderate to active speed on the eastern and southern coasts, raising sand.
It also expected the weather in the desert areas to be relatively dusty and partly cloudy, very hot during the day, where the maximum temperatures range between 39-44 degrees Celsius, with the possibility of scattered rains on parts of the deserts of Al Mahrah, Hadramaut and Shabwah. The winds are active, raising dust.
The National Center for Meteorology warned against being in the valleys, flood corridors, and taking shelter from thunderstorms in the mountainous highlands where rain is expected.
It also warned against exposure to dust, especially the elderly, children and those suffering from respiratory diseases in areas with dust in desert and coastal areas.
