Russia assumes the presidency of the United Nations Security Council and Yemen’s situation on the agenda

Russia took over the presidency of the United Nations Security Council on July 1.

Vasily Nebenzia, Russia’s ambassador to the UN, stated at a press conference in New York that Ukraine is not on this month’s agenda.

Nebenzia added that any member of the Security Council can propose the issue of Ukraine for consideration.

Each of the 15 members of the United Nations Security Council, including Russia, holds the presidency for one month. Russia last presided over the organization in April 2023.

According to the “Kyiv Independent” website, at the initiative of Moscow, the Security Council will discuss the conflicts in the Middle East in July, specifically focusing on the situations in Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen.
