Yemeni Meteorological Center Forecasts Continued Strong Winds Around Socotra, Warns of Sea Disturbance

Yemeni Meteorological center on Sunday expect continued active and strong winds around Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts.

It warned seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains around Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts of sea disturbances and high waves.

It also expected thundershowers of varying intensity over parts of the provinces of Al-Bayda, Abyan and Lahj highlands, Al-Dal’e, Ibb, Rima and Dhamar, and scattered rains that may be accompanied by thunder sometimes over parts of the provinces of Taizz, Sana’a, Amran, Al-Mahwit, Hajjah, Sa’ada, and extending to parts of the Hadramawt and Mahra plateaus and Shabwah highlands.

It also expects hot to very hot weather in the desert areas, plains and coasts, where the maximum temperatures range between (39 – 45) degrees Celsius.

It warned citizens in the areas expected to witness rainfall against being present in torrents during and after the rains and taking shelter from thunderstorms.

It also alerted motorists on mountain roads to the decrease in horizontal visibility due to rain and fog.

The Meteorological center urged citizens in the desert, coastal and plain areas to be aware of the hot and very hot weather and advised against direct exposure to sunlight at noon, and urged them to drink plenty of water and fluids.
