The MASAM Project for Demining Yemen’s Lands announced on Saturday the implementation of an operation to destroy and detonate large quantities of unexploded shells and ammunition in Al-Wadi Directorate of Marib Governorate.
The project said that the shells and ammunition that were disposed of today represent the second phase of removing unexploded ordnance (UXO) in the Samda area in Marib, which resulted from an uncontrolled explosion of an arms depot.
The project confirmed that the mission of the 13th team tasked with removing and securing the shells and ammunition resulting from the explosion was crowned with success, which contributed to securing the lives of displaced people and local residents from the dangers caused by these remnants.
