A commercial vessel was damaged in a drone attack on early Sunday morning off the coast of Yemen in the Red Sea, with no reported injuries, according to the UK Maritime Safety Agency.
“The master of a merchant vessel reported being struck by an unmanned aerial system (UAS), resulting in damage to the vessel. All crew members are reported safe,” the agency said in a statement.
The attack occurred about 65 nautical miles west of the Yemeni coastal city of Hodeidah, according to the agency, which is run by the British Navy.
“The authorities are investigating the matter,” the agency added, without identifying those responsible for the attack.
