Yemeni Meteorological Center Expects Hot, Clear Weather to Continue in Most of the Country provinces

The National Meteorology Center forecast that hot, clear weather will continue in most of the country provinces.

In its weather bulletin, it said that the mountainous highlands will experience clear to partly cloudy skies with hot weather on the inner plateaus. There is a possibility of scattered showers, sometimes accompanied by thunder, over parts of the provinces of Sa’ada, Hajjah, Mahweet, Rima, Taiz, and Ibb. Scattered showers are also expected over parts of the provinces of Amran, western Sanaa and Dhamar, Dha’le, and the highlands of Tihama. These showers may extend to parts of Al-Mahrah and Hadhramaut plateaus in the east during the afternoon and evening hours.

In the coastal areas, it forecast partly cloudy, hot, and humid weather with maximum temperatures ranging from 36 to 40 degrees Celsius. It will be extremely hot in the coastal plains with maximum temperatures between 40 and 43 degrees Celsius. There is a possibility of scattered showers over parts of the eastern coasts and the interior areas adjacent to them, as well as the coasts of Al-Hodeidah and Hajjah provinces. Winds will be strong around Socotra Archipelago, reaching a maximum speed of 35 knots, and moderate to active in speed on the eastern and southern coasts.

In the desert areas, the National Meteorology Center forecast clear to partly cloudy skies with the appearance of cumulonimbus clouds during the evening hours. It will be extremely hot, with maximum temperatures ranging from 39 to 44 degrees Celsius. Winds will be moderate to active in speed, raising dust and sand.

The National Meteorology Center warned citizens in the deserts, inner plateaus, plains, and coasts against the extremely hot weather and advised them to avoid direct exposure to sunlight and drink plenty of water.

It urged seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains to be aware of the high waves and rough seas around Socotra Archipelago and the eastern coasts.

It also alerted citizens in areas expected to receive rain to avoid staying in wadis and flood paths during and after the rain.

It urged drivers on roads in the western highlands to be cautious of reduced horizontal visibility due to low, dense clouds, fog, and heavy rain.
